The Cultural Action Teamof St. Mary Magdalene Parish warmly invites all to attend our End of Summer Seminar: “There’s Plenty Good Room in My Father’s Kingdom.”
Registration is at 8:30 am. Light refreshments will be provided.
Inspired by the 2023 National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC), this seminar is an opportunity for all of us together to talk about spirituality, the gifts we share, and how diversity can enhance our lives.
Forum:
Fr. David Taylor, Senior Parochial Vicar, will speak about the life of Venerable Augustus Tolton, born a slave who became the first Black American priest in the United States of America, and how it relates to modern times.
Dr. Vernon D. Franklin, an instructor at the Community College of Allegheny County and Geneva College-Pittsburgh Campus after having worked at the University of Pittsburgh for 35 years, will speak about Inclusion and Diversity.
There will be a breakout session, a free raffle, and inspirational prayer by song.
