Barbara F. Johnson, sister of Priscilla Davis, transitioned to her heavenly home on April 29, 2024.

Barbara was born April 23, 1940, in Madison, WV to Henrietta M. Smoot and Jack A. Forte. She was raised in Huntington and a member of First Baptist. She graduated from Douglass High School in 1957. Barbara married Harold L. Johnson in 1958 and from that marriage had son Damon. She moved to Washington, DC., in 1961 where she worked for the U. S. Dept of Education. Barbara moved to Atlanta, GA in 1978 to work for the Federal Aviation Administration until she retired. 

Barbara enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, shopping, dining out, and moviegoing. Barbara was known for her intellect, organizational skills, and sense of humor but especially for her love and kindness towards all people. Barbara created a sense of community wherever she went. She was an active member of Unity Church in Conyers, GA. In 2021 Barbara moved to Philadelphia to be near her son and his wife Ernestine.

Barbara will be missed by her children, two sisters Penny Jacob, Priscilla Davis, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, other nieces, nephew, close family, and a host of good friends. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church in Huntington, WV on Saturday, June 1.
